While many believed that the child actress was only simulating the playing of the violin, Wenwen Han is actually an accomplished Violinist along with child actress.
In this cute remake, Dre played by Jaden Smith is a school boy with a crush and something to prove. Jackie Chan showed his abilities as the sad and lonely Mr. Han. The consummate nice guy, Dre is faced with bullies and hardships because he is different. Much like the original Karat kid move staring Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and Elisabeth Shue as Ali Mills, the student finds a reluctant master to train him. In each movie, the boy is bent on revenge but this is tempered by the master’s patience and wisdom.
